Chorley & District Gardening Society - Flower Show 2011. This year's show was held on Saturday 10th September (2011). Although entries were down on recent years due to the summer weather the quality was still evident in a wide variety of exhibits. Entries in the vegetable classes held up well compared with previous years..... though craft, confectionary, floral art and childrens classes were all slightly down. Our President, Roy Fisher presented the prizes at the conclusion of the show - here is Heather Morris being awarded the Riversdale Trophy for the most points in the confectionary classes...... and Jim Bennett taking the Harley Trophy for most points in the horticultural classes. Youngest winner was Dannielle Boyd with the Lynn Goulding Cup for the best exhibit in children's floral art. Other winners included Ian Burns, Roland McGreal, Ralph Jolly, Peter Walker, George Owen, Christine Armstrong, W.Wilkinson, Louise Gregory, Harrison Boyd, Elizabeth Reay, David Brown, Audret Dawson, Chloe Baker, Edmund Allison and Bill May.
