On Friday 3rd July, the Myles Standish Garden at Duxbury commemorative event took place to celebrate
250 years of American Independence. Sir Lyndsay Hoyle, the Mayor and Consort of Chorley, Councillor
Debra Platt and Councillor Alan Platt were all in attendance along with many of Chorley’s schools. The next
custodians of the garden for the coming year are Coppull St John’s Primary School, taking over from Duke
Street Primary School who have cared for it so wonderfully this year.
