Chorley’s First Blue Plaque Trail - Who should be on it?
We are looking for suggestions for people to be included that fit the following criteria...
Criteria:
To do with town centre (they don't have to have been born there).
To have contributed significantly to establishment, growth or lustre of Chorley town.
To be significant figures of our past history.
Here is a potential list, made up by a Working Party representing several of Chorley’s history/heritage associations. You are very welcome to comment or to make alternative suggestions.

Susanna Brooke (19 cent patron/power)
Oliver Cooper (Chorley Independence)
Abraham Crompton (Donor/Estate)

Wrennall (Social Reformer/16th Cent. martyr)
Henry Hibbert (Educationalist/Politician)
William Hall (Machine breaker, 1826)
John Hollinshead (First town hall, 1802)
Walter Howarth (Nobel Prize- 1 exists)
Thomas Rawcliffe (Benefactor, Hospital)
Robert Rawlinson (Public Health)
Richard Smethurst (Industrialist)
TC Stephenson (Walker’s rights)
