The Chorley Photographic Society and its Relationship to the Chorley Heritage Centre

The Chorley Photographic Society — founded in 1896, running ever since and still at the forefront of local photography! ChorleyPS has grown in membership over the last few years and has been one of Lancashire’s quickest growing Photographic Clubs.

This is largely due to the varied and excellent programme of weekly events, which range from lectures from some of the best lecturers available, regular photo competitions for members, a full Summer programme of outings, and there's extra monthly practical sessions (which were introduced this year (2011), and which are proving very popular with newer members.)

Also the club have become increasingly successful in inter-Club competitions — they have been twice selected to represent the (L&CPU) at Warwick and Deeside in Inter-Club Championships; AND have ranked 11th in the International Gold Cup Competition which is open to entries from all over the World.

Despite all these successes, Chorley PS retains its local warm Chorley ambience. New members are made welcome and quickly find themselves progressing up the ladder of photographic success.
